  • Biography

Brian Duffy has photographed two, non-consecutive editions of the Calendar, 1965 and 1973. Before being called to photograph the 1965 edition, Duffy was already quite famous. He has made the camera a way of life, and his particular way of interpreting women in photographs places him in a class apart. Duffy began his career designing clothes and selling antiques, then he received a call from Vogue who offered him a apprenticeship. From that moment on, success has smiled on him. Duffy's photographs have been published in Elle, Town and numerous other prestigious magazines. He has also created a number of rather surreal images for the advertising campaigns of Benson & Hedges and for the Pirelli Cinturato. Duffy is a fan of socialist ideology, champagne, and abstract conversation.

Duffy also produced the film, Oh What a Lovely War.
